After breakfast your driver guide will be waiting to transfer you in a private 4WD vehicle to Sanctuary Swala situated in the Tarangire National Park which has one of the largest populations of elephants in Tanzania. Its sparse vegetation, broken up by baobab and acacia trees, makes it a beautiful and special location. The drive from Arusha to Tarangire is approximately two hours, from the entrance of the park there is another one hour drive and there are plenty of game viewing opportunities en route. Have lunch and some time to relax before enjoying an exciting game drive by open four wheel drive vehicle. Due to the camp's secluded location you are unlikely to see many vehicles as you venture out into the national park. Return to Sanctuary Swala to freshen up before dinner.

Breathtaking views of the Maasai Steppe and the mountains to the south make a stop at Tarangire a memorable experience. This afternoon there is time to take a refreshing swim in the pool or relax on your private deck with a cool drink, grazing out of the waterhole and watching as the game lazily congregates in the shade to escape the midday sun. Return to camp to freshen up before meeting around the campfire for a pre-dinner drink as you discuss the day's adventures.

Sanctuary Kusini is ideally placed to catch the migration that can be round in this area of the park from mid December to April when the zebra and wildebeest drop their young. Ngorongoro truly offers an absolutely unique environment for wildlife viewing. First, you won’t see any giraffe or impala inside the crater; though they would love to graze the abundant vegetation, these delicate-legged animals find it nearly impossible to navigate their way down the steep cliffs. But because it is so enclosed and the crater floor is mainly open grassland, this conservation area is easy for game officials to patrol; the result is a healthy population of endangered species like the Black rhino and cheetah. Return to Camp for lunch with the afternoon free to enjoy its amenities and unforgettable setting. Meal plan is full board.

DAY 9 – Drive to Serengeti
Today we drive to Serengeti Serena set high on the saddle of tree-clad ridge commanding panoramic views over the endlessly rolling reaches and volcanic reefs of the Serengeti.
